The City of Hillsboro will receive bids for the construction of a 24” sanitary sewer line in Hillsboro from the sanitary sewer treatment facility east until 2 p.m. on June 5, 2012.

The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2 p.m. on June 5, 2012 at City Administration Building, 214 E. Elm Street in Hillsboro.
Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows:
1. CAST IN PLACE MANHOLES 7 EA.
2. GRAVITY SANITARY SEWER (24” PVC TYPE T-1 OR T-2B) 2300 L.F.
Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file for viewing at 214 E. Elm Street, Hillsboro TX 76645.
Copies of the Bid/Contract Documents including Drawings and Technical Specifications may be obtained by purchasing with a check made out to J. R. Engineering (Telephone 325 439-8225) for $ 75.00 plus shipping charges for each set of documents obtained. This is non-refundable.
A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Hillsboro or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin.
The City of Hillsboro reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
Bids may be held by the City of Hillsboro for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.

All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
