City Council Agenda

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Hillsboro shall meet in regular session on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Historic City Hall, 127 E. Franklin Street in Hillsboro, Texas. The matters to be discussed and acted upon are as follows:

1. Call Meeting to Order.

2. Invocation.

3. Pledge of Allegiance.

4. Hear Statements from Persons Wishing to Address the Council.

Consent Agenda

5. Deliberate and Act on the Approval of the Minutes for the Regular Meeting on September 5, 2017 and the City Council Special Meeting/Workshop on September 12, 2017.

6. Act on the Approval of Bills.

Regular Agenda

7. Hold a Public Hearing, Second Reading, Deliberate and Act on an Ordinance Adopting the Budget for Fiscal Year 2017-2018.

8. Hold a Public Hearing, Second Reading, Deliberate and Act on an Ordinance Adopting the Tax Rate for the Fiscal Year 2017-2018.

9. Hold a Public Hearing, Second Reading, Deliberate and Act on an Ordinance Ratifying and Levying an Annual Ad Valorem Tax for the Year 2017 Setting Specific Tax Rates, Applicable to All Real, Personal and Mixed Property Situated Within the City of Hillsboro.

10. Hold a Public Hearing, First Reading of a Proposed Ordinance, and Consider and Deliberate on Recommendations From the Planning & Zoning Commission on a Proposed Rezone From Spotswood E. Davis on a Portion of a Certain Tract of Land Described in Volume 1833, Page 389, Recorded in the Official Public Records Hill County, Texas, A.K.A. 1320 Park Drive. This Rezone Would Change From Its Present Zoning of Single Family Residential (SF-5) District to Commercial (C) District.

11. Deliberate and Act on a Resolution to Authorize the City Manager to Negotiate an Agreement With Norman Alston Architects For Design Services Related to the Local History and Genealogy Library on the Second Floor of Historic City Hall and Related to a Building to House the Antique Fire Engines on the Central Fire Station Property to be Brought Back to the City Council for Approval; Establishing an Ad Hoc Committee to Advise and Work With the Architect on These Projects; and Finding That These Projects Will Contribute to the Collection of Items in Hillsboro That Help Draw Tourists and Visitors to the Community and Contribute to Overnight Stays in Local Hotels.

12. Hear and Deliberate on City Manager’s Report.

13. Hold a Closed Session Under the Provisions of Section 551.074 of Government Code (Personnel-Related to the Utility Department).

14. Reconvene in Open Session.

15. Deliberate and Act on Matters Discussed in Executive Session, If Any.
