The Hillsboro Community Network (HCN) was launched as a collaborative effort between the city, school district, county, Chamber of Commerce, education service center, community college and public library.
The City of Hillsboro was awarded aTelecommunications Infrastructure Fund grant to place technology throughout the city to provide computer access to their residents.
Currently, the HCN provides the community with an official community website, 4 kiosks providing local and tourist information and a computer lab located in a portable building on the campus of the Hillsboro Elementary School. The computer lab serves as a state of the art homework center offering students technology and online educational resources.
