HCGS to Welcome Guest Speaker Peggy Fox
Peggy Fox, Confederate Consultant, will be presenting the program for the next meeting of the Hill County Genealogical Society in Hillsboro on Monday, May 7th at 6 PM in the Hill County Courthouse Annex meeting room located at 126 South Covington Street. “Why They Moved west During and After the War Between The States” will be her topic. Joyce Reid, President, will preside and will also serve as hostess for this meeting.
Anyone who has paid their dues for 2012 and has not received their quarterly, Hill County Crossroads, may pick it up at this meeting or send a note to HCGS at P.O. Box 636, Hillsboro TX 76645-0636. Dues are $18.00 a year for an individual or $25.00 a year for a family from January thru December, 2012. The HCGS meets monthly on the first Monday of the month, with a few exceptions. The July meeting will be held on the 2nd Monday, July 9th.
The HCGS invites anyone interested in family or local history to visit the Genealogical Section of the Hillsboro City Library on the 2nd floor mezzanine by the elevator. We have an extensive collection of newspaper microfilm, family histories, historical histories, cemetery records, etc., with available copiers for a nominal fee. HCGS researchers are available to help you if notified in advance of your visit.
