HCGS Welcomes Historian Sarah McCleskey-April 14, 2012, in Hubbard

Sarah McCleskey, a historian in the Official Texas Historical Marker Program for the Texas Historical Commission, will be the guest speaker Saturday, April 14th, at 2 PM in the Historic Hubbard High School in Hubbard for the Hill County Genealogical Society. Ms. McCleskey writes and edits inscriptions for historical markers, processes marker applications and orders, and coordinates with county historical commissions and the general public on matters related to research and markers. The program is co-sponsored by the Hubbard Community Affairs Association, Inc. Ms. McCleskey will be introduced by Russell Keelin, Hill County Historical Commission Marker Chairman.

This program is open to the public. The Hill County Genealogical Society normally meets at 6 pm on the first Monday of each month. The next meeting of HCGS will be on Monday, May 7th, at 6 pm in the Hill County Courthouse Annex at 126 South Covington Street in Hillsboro. Membership is $18.00 for an individual and $25.00 for a family from January thru December, which includes receiving the quarterly, “Hill County Crossroads”.  The HCGS is affiliated with the Texas State Genealogical Society.
