The Hillsboro Main Street Program began in 1981 as one of the original five Texas Main Street programs. The Hillsboro Main Street Program is dedicated to the revitalization of the Downtown Hillsboro commercial district using the program’s four point approach; design, organization, promotion, and economic restructuring.
The Hillsboro Main Street Board envisions downtown as the heart of our community where we encourage the preservation of historic architecture and enrich the lifestyle of our citizens and visitors.
To promote commercial district revitalization through the context of historic preservation in Downtown Hillsboro using the Main Street Program’s four point approach; design, organization, promotion, and economic restructuring.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Texas Main Street Program has been accredited as a 2010 National Main Street Program for meeting the ten standards of performance for a Main Street organization in 2009.
The Main Street Program is housed at the Historic City Hall, 127 East Franklin Street.
