2024 Election Information 

The City of Hillsboro's General Election is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024 to elect three (3) Councilmembers for Place 2, Place 4, and Place 6 (At-large.)  


Early Voting by Personal Appearance and Election Day Voting

Election Day:                                                              Early Voting: 

May 4, 2024                                                                 April 22nd-30th (excluding weekends)

7:00AM to 7:00PM                                                      8:30AM to 5:00PM 

Election Day and Early Voting will be conducted at:  Historic City Hall-127 E. Franklin St. Hillsboro, TX 76645.


Voting by Mail 

To vote by mail, apply between Jan. 1 and April 23, 2024. Applications for ballot by mail may be submitted after Jan. 1 of each year. 

All currently registered voters are eligible to request and receive a mail ballot if any if you meet the following qualifications:

  • 65 years of age or older
  • Disability (as defined in Texas Election Code 82.002(a))
  • Expected to give birth within 3 weeks before or after Election Day
  • Expected absence from the County (Only applicable for the upcoming election and runoff)
  • Confinement in jail or involuntary civil commitment (Only applicable for the upcoming election and runoff)


Applications may be submitted in person, by mail (received, not postmarked), email, or fax during this period. For applications submitted by fax or email, the application must also be submitted by mail and received no later than the 4th business day after the digital copy is received. You may access and download the application under the Election Resources tab.
